A different kind of sequence
Four complete King-to-Ace runs clear the game. Scorpion on 708-yuan.com uses one 52-card deck with four suits. The tableau has seven columns. Moves build down in the same suit rather than allowing cross-suit destinations.
Read the opening cards
The following details apply here. Three cards remain in the stock. Each opening column contains seven cards for a total of 49 tableau cards. The first three cards in each of the first four columns are face down. All cards in the last three columns are face up.
Build in the same suit
Here are the details for this mode. A seven of hearts cannot land on an eight of spades. A King cannot land on another card because no higher rank exists. A moved group's leading card must land on a card exactly one rank higher in the same suit. A seven of hearts can land on an exposed eight of hearts.
Move exposed groups
Keep these points in mind. The selected cards do not need to descend in rank to travel together. The leading selected card still has to meet the destination rule. Any face-up card can be selected together with every card beneath it. The selected cards do not need to share a suit to travel together.
Only Kings fill empty space
The following details apply here. A group led by a lower rank cannot enter an empty column. An empty column accepts a King or a group led by a King. An empty column is therefore less flexible than an empty column in ordinary Spider. Cards beneath a moved King do not need to be in sequence.
Reveal the hidden cards
A few details help explain this feature. Undo restores the earlier hidden-card arrangement when the move is reversed. Removing all face-up cards above a hidden card turns that hidden card face up. The next hidden card is revealed automatically. An exposed card can carry the cards beneath it when its own destination is legal.
The final three cards
Keep these points in mind. Dealing places a face-up card on each of the first three columns. This Scorpion version permits its stock deal when columns are empty. The stock contains one final deal of three cards. There are no further stock cards after the three-card deal.
Collect ordered runs
Keep these points in mind. All thirteen cards in a collected run must be face up. The game removes a qualifying run automatically from the bottom of a column. A completed run must descend from King to Ace in one suit. Moving an unordered group does not make that group a completed sequence.
Practice Scorpion decisions
A move can carry unwanted cards along with a useful leading card. Hint lists legal choices without promising a winning continuation. Replay and Undo let you explore another approach to the same layout. Checking the whole moved group helps you anticipate what will become blocked.
